HANJI ENTRIES: updated information on digital images The steering committee made some early decisions to get the entry information out to Guild members and based the digital information on what the CABC was using. At our last meeting we realized we don’t need to be so technical!
Entry forms and other information ( cv’s etc )
- Please send up to 3 images per entry in jpeg format.
- Files can be up to 500K each, and preferably created on a template no larger than 5 x 7.
- We will accept them on CD’s or email.
- Identify each with the first 3 letters of your last name, your first initial, and 1a, 1b, 1c — the “1″ referring to the entry number, the “a”, “b”, or “c” referring to the first, second, and third images relating to that entry. (eg front view, back view, and detail).
Should you require more entry information, it can be found on the Guild web sites, or you can email annihunt@mac.com and she will email you the submission guidelines, and the entry form. However, to make our work a little easier, please try to source the info from the web sites.
But most importantly, this is your show, please enter! June 1 deadline.
Tips for photographing your work: Use a plain background and be sure the object stands out from the background. Good lighting will help this and can enhance texture and other details.
In 2008, Felicia Lo presented a guild program on “Photography for Textiles”. The notes that she gave out at that meeting are available on her blog. Her website is www.sweetgeorgiayarns.com

Hi weavers-I see the Guild is involved with the Jeonju Hanji exhibit. This sounds very exiting! I am on the exhibition committee out here in Port Coquitlam. We have the show Aug22-Sept 3, at Leigh Square Community Ars Village. This is a great venue for those of you who live out this way. Hope to see some of you then Doris
